Biography
"If it sounds good, it is good"--Duke Ellington's credo has become the personal motto of Chris DuBrock, who as a high school student in Anchorage Alaska was equally at home composing classical chamber pieces and arranging for jazz big band. DuBrock holds a Bachelor's in Jazz Trumpet and a Doctorate in Composition from Rutgers University.
DuBrock has scored three documentaries that have run on PBS, including the award-winning maritime doc First Light. He has scored two animated TV shows, and a host of independent films; he's also worked on two full-length musicals as an orchestrator/co-producer . DuBrock's concert music has been performed by notables such as Paul Rosenthal (Sitka Chamber Music Festival) and pianist Thomas Tirino and is published by Art of Sound Music. As a trumpeter DuBrock has performed and/or recorded with The Anchorage Symphony Orchestra, The Illinois Jacquet Big Band, Pinetop Perkins, The Max Graham Band and The Infernos.
